Robert Stephens serves on Springfield City Council, General Seat A. He was also elected Mayor Pro Tem by his colleagues. Stephens had retired as a manager from a large manufacturing concern and
"flunked" retirement after two months. He runs his own HR and Communications consulting company and teaches an occasional university class. He has written an op-ed column for two SW MO newspapers for
a year and has had numerous articles and opinion pieces published in a variety of media. He holds a bachelor's degree in English, an MA in Communications, and a Specialist's Degree in Technical

A great big "thank you" goes out to the Springfield voters who, first of all, went to the polls today and then, secondly, voted in favor of continuing the Capital Improvement Tax by a margin of 70% to 30%.
